Bad Luck for a Bicycle Thief: A Flat Tire

The South Tyrolean bike rental company, Sanvit, hired out three e-bikes one Saturday afternoon. Sanvit equips all customers with high-quality bike locks and a BikeTrax GPS tracker free of charge. The customers wanted to cycle to Lake Kaltern on the day in question. They double-chained the e-bikes and headed for the water. When they returned, the most expensive of the bikes was gone. Sanvit and the police were informed immediately. Via PowUnity, they were able to locate the e-bike.

“The chase was just like in the movies, I could watch everything live via the PowUnity app.”

The e-bike was moving. Two of the Sanvit employees set off on their own e-bikes to take up the chase, and the third, Anna stayed in the office, following the GPS signals live.
The rest of the story seemed part of a blockbuster script: The two guys from Sanvit watched the thief. He turned off into one of the many apple orchards with the stolen e-bike. Then something went wrong. He got off, threw the bike onto the grass and continued running on foot. This time, a flat tire was something at least two of the stakeholders were happy about.
One of the Sanvit employees rushed after the thief and grabbed him by his backpack. He was able to pull him to the ground, and even managed to take a selfie of his successful bike hunting saga. The police had also arrived on the scene by this time. “We didn’t even think twice, and we weren’t afraid in the least,” the two heroes of Sanvit explained. “We were so full of adrenaline that we just wanted to catch him!”
