Compatibility & Installation
- Bosch Cargoline
- Many e-cargo bikes run on the Bosch Cargoline drive system. BikeTrax works with it – just make sure you choose the right variant for your motor generation.
- Other drive systems
- There are variants for Bosch, Brose, Giant, Shimano, and Yamaha, plus a universal version (5–49 V) for other drive systems.
- Installation note: shielding
- The transmitter must not be enclosed by metal, aluminum, or carbon – for example, not inside an aluminum seat tube. Otherwise, the GPS signal gets shielded.
- Smart System & rear-hub drives
- On Smart System motors, your dealer may briefly unlock the connection port in the Bosch software if needed. There's no general approval for rear-hub drives – we tend to advise against it in that case.

Which tracker fits my cargo bike?
For e-cargo bikes, the BikeTrax is the right choice. It's mounted discreetly on the drive unit, communicates via 4G, and connects to the PowUnity app. Which variant you need depends on your motor: Bosch, Brose, Giant, Shimano, Yamaha, or Universal.
Does BikeTrax work with the Bosch Cargoline?
Yes. BikeTrax works with the Bosch Cargoline drive unit, which is used in many e-cargo bikes. There's a matching version for every Bosch motor model – it's important to identify the correct motor generation.
How is the tracker installed?
BikeTrax is connected discreetly via the connector cable on the drive unit, so it's permanently powered. It's not visible from the outside. It's best to have your bike shop handle the installation.
What's the deal with signal shielding?
The transmitter must not be enclosed by metal, aluminum, or carbon – for example, not inside an aluminum seat tube. Otherwise the GPS signal gets blocked. Choose a position with a clear "line of sight to the sky."
Does tracking also work abroad?
Yes, your cargo bike stays trackable across the EU. Even while traveling, you can see its location in the app and get alerts on your phone.
What happens if my cargo bike disappears?
You report the incident in the app and start the Recovery process. An experienced partner service locates your cargo bike and, if possible, helps recover it together with the police.
Does the tracker replace my lock?
No. A good lock slows things down, and the tracker shows you the location and sounds an alarm. Only together do they provide real protection for your cargo bike.
